can you make everything work together?
System Test Engineer | Hyderabad, India | Full-Time | 5+ yrs exp
Who we are We build dark factories: fully autonomous, zero-defect production systems for electronics & semiconductor manufacturing. Based in Hyderabad, obsessed with tolerances, not corporate fluff.
The gig You validate the whole machine — mechanics, robots, motion, electrical, controls, software and vision — against real performance and reliability targets. Hands-on, in the lab and on the floor, you prove the machine actually does what the spec promised. If it drifts, jams, misses or slows down, you find it before the customer does.
What you’ll do Own the system test & validation strategy for automated machines, prototype through production · TTurn product & system requirements into test specs, cases, acceptance criteria & validation plans · Build system-level test plans across mechanical, electrical, robotics, motion, controls, vision, software, safety, performance & reliability · Run performance, accuracy, repeatability, throughput & reliability tests on fully automated equipment · Validate full machine sequences — startup, homing, production, recipe changes, faults, recovery, shutdown · Test robots and validate vision · Prove the numbers — UPH, takt time, OEE, cycle time, availability, accuracy and process capability · Break it on purpose — fault-injection & recovery across sensor, camera, robot, comms failures, part-present errors, safety trips and power cuts · Dig into the data — trends, structured root-cause with engineering, Cp/Cpk and production acceptance criteria
Must haves Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics, Automation, CS or related · 5+ years in system testing, validation, automation, robotics or complex electromechanical products · Strong grip on automation systems — mechanics, robots, PLCs, motion, sensors, vision & software · Built & run system-level test plans, cases & validation protocols for complex kit · Hands-on testing machines with robots, motion, sensors, actuators, vision & PLC sequences · Solid on traceability, acceptance criteria, defect management & change control · Fluent in machine metrics — cycle time, UPH, OEE, accuracy, repeatability, availability, process capability · Root-cause the hard ones from test data — trends, not guesses
Nice to haves Validated fully automatic equipment for electronics, mobile, wearable, semiconductor or automotive · Tested SCARA, 6-axis, delta or Cartesian robots — repeatability, absolute accuracy, thermal drift, trajectory · Machine vision validation — calibration, measurement capability, inspection, AI/ML models · Precision motion — servo motors, linear stages, motion controllers · Built automated test & DAQ tools in Python, C++ or C# · FMEA, risk analysis, fault injection; long-duration 24/7 reliability & endurance
tl;dr A machine can pass every unit test and still fail as a whole. Your job is to prove the whole thing works — accuracy, speed, uptime, recovery — before it ever leaves the building.
