can you make sure code comes alive?

Software Test Engineer | Hyderabad, India | Full-Time | 5+ yrs exp

Who we are We build dark factories: fully autonomous, zero-defect production systems for electronics & semiconductor manufacturing. Based in Hyderabad, obsessed with tolerances, not corporate fluff.

The gig You're the last line before software ships to a real machine. You own the test strategy, automate the boring runs, and hunt the bugs in machine-control software, HMI, vision, AI/ML and comms before they reach the floor. You break it on purpose, prove it recovers, and sign off only when it actually works — in a tight loop with software, controls, robotics, vision and systems teams.

What you’ll do Own the test strategy — plans, cases and acceptance criteria for industrial automation software, requirements to sign-off · Test machine-control software — state machines, sequences, interlocks, recipes, alarms and recovery logic · Test HMI apps — flows, navigation, alarms, operator workflows, config and data viz · Validate the interfaces — PLC, robot controllers, motion, vision, sensors, HMI and PC apps talking to each other · Automate it — build automated tests that make regression fast, repeatable and boring · Break things on purpose — comms drops, sensor failures, bad inputs, power cuts, weird machine states · Run performance, stress, endurance & stability tests · Hunt the root cause — dig through logs and traces, reproduce with devs, verify the fix

Must haves Bachelor's/Master's in CS, Software, Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or related · 5+ years in software testing, QA or dev/testing · Fluent in testing methods — functional, integration, regression, system, exploratory, performance · You write test automation — Python, C#, C++, Java or equivalent, plus your own utilities · Live in the SDLC — version control, bug tracking, release process · Reads logs and traces, isolates the defect, checks it against acceptance criteria

Nice to haves Tested software for industrial automation, robotics or machine vision — or other complex electromechanical kit · Tested PLC/HMI-based automation and PC machine-control apps · Frameworks: PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework; APIs: Postman / REST · Talked OPC UA, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP or PROFINET to a real machine · Tested AI/ML & computer vision — model versioning, inference results, image pipelines · Jira, Confluence, TestRail on autopilot; 24/7 endurance & recovery testing

tl;dr Anyone can pass software that runs in a demo. Here it has to survive a real machine, on a real floor, at 3 a.m. — and you're the one who says it's ready.
