can you make systems talk to each other?
Software Integration Engineer | Hyderabad, India | Full-Time | 4-5 yrs exp
Who we are We build dark factories: fully autonomous, zero-defect production systems for electronics & semiconductor manufacturing. Based in Hyderabad, obsessed with tolerances, not corporate fluff.
The gig We need someone who can take new hardware, subsystems and vendor components and turn them into one working, reliable real-time control system — not bolt on one-off hacks. Own the integration end to end: interfaces, timing, fault handling, the works. Concept to commissioning, not a “write a spec and walk away” role.
What you’ll do Integrate new hardware & subsystems into the live control app using reusable architectural patterns, not hard-wired one-offs · design clean interfaces & data contracts — versioned, binary, shared-memory — so independently-built pieces keep talking to each other · work inside config-driven, generator-produced code without breaking the tool↔code relationship · extend fault-handling & diagnostics (codes, severities, recovery) for new hardware · hunt down timing-sensitive & concurrency bugs across real hardware and simulation · build test fixtures & simulation harnesses so modules get validated before hardware even shows up · sit with electrical/controls/mechanical to nail interfaces & validate against real equipment · extend HMI & diagnostic tooling so new modules are actually observable in the field · write docs clear enough someone else can pick up the work cold · review integration work for contract stability, not just “does it compile.”
Must haves Bachelor's/Master's in Electronics, Electrical Engg, Mechatronics or related · 4-5 yrs building software for embedded, real-time or industrial automation systems · strong C/C++ (C++17+), proven at gluing multiple modules into one app · solid grip on real-time control — cyclic loops, deterministic timing, state machines, shared-memory/message IPC · working knowledge of motion control + an industrial fieldbus (EtherCAT, CANopen, PROFINET or equivalent) · experience with binary/wire data contracts — packed structs, versioning, backward compat · comfortable reading & safely editing generated, config-driven code · git-based version control & real code review · strong debugging across logs, live I/O, simulators & hardware · writes docs someone else can actually act on.
Nice to haves Experience integrating motion, actuator or vision subsystems into a bigger machine-control app · fault/alarm-management systems (codes, severities, catalog-driven definitions) · HMI or maintenance/diagnostic tooling for industrial gear · RTX64, VxWorks, QNX or another RTOS layered on Windows/Linux · built or extended internal config/code-gen tooling · automated test harnesses for embedded/real-time software (unit frameworks, coverage, hardware sim shims) · taken new hardware from first bring-up to stable auto operation · e-stop circuits, signal-polarity conventions, watchdogs — safety-adjacent thinking, even without a cert · thrives in a small, fast-moving product team.
tl;dr Love making unrelated hardware actually talk to each other, debug like it's a crime scene, and want to help build the factories of the future? Let's wire something that actually runs. Reliably.
